Michael and Rose dreamed of giving their 6 boys a place to call their own. After 15 years of renting they purchased their first home in Bakersfield, CA. Homeownership has given them the freedom to make their house truly theirs, from painting and making upgrades to creating spaces where their children can play, ride bikes, and enjoy their hobbies. Having a garage has even made room for dirt bikes and family projects. Most of all, they love the sense of ownership and the ability to make their home their own without having to ask for permission. Having family and friends over feels different now—they’re not just gathering in a rental, but in a home that belongs to them. Through their hard work and with the support from My Way Home the Arechiga family was able to make the dream of homeownership a reality.
