OUR VISION

To be regarded as the leader and trusted source in providing home ownership services for our community, where individuals and families are empowered to reach their highest potential, while placing our client’s best interest at the core of everything we do.

My Way Home is a nonprofit rooted in your community and invested in you.

We help people become homeowners.

Like a bank, My Way Home provides mortgage loans.
But unlike a bank, we don’t exist to make profits for shareholders.

As a nonprofit, every dollar we earn is reinvested into programs and services that support you, your family, and your future.

We’re not driven by profits. We’re driven by purpose.

Our History

My Way Home, previously Ventura County Community Development Corporation, was co-founded in 2001 by Rodney Fernandez and Bertha Garcia to fulfill their vision of strengthening and sustaining prosperous communities through homebuyer and homeowner education, counseling, and mortgage loans.

During the 2008 housing crisis, My Way Home quickly adapted to support families at risk of losing their homes. As the market recovered, the organization focused on empowering low- and moderate-income families to achieve homeownership despite rising costs and limited inventory. As a certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), My Way Home serves the community with high levels of homeownership services.

With a dedicated team, My Way Home provides comprehensive support, from education and counseling to mortgage lending and down payment assistance, helping families improve their economic well-being and build stronger communities.

Your gift spans generations.

Homeownership is the foundation for building and preserving financial stability. Everyone needs a place to call home and here in California less than a third of people can afford to purchase one.

With our help, 3,000 low-to-moderate-income families are thriving thanks to the stability that homeownership brings.

Help us to continue building brighter futures for local families by making a contribution to My Way Home.e tday
